Udupi: Sand Art to Convey Devastating Effects of AIDS on World AIDS Day

Udupi, Dec 1: The Sand Heart Team of Manipal has carved out a sand sculpture to create awareness about AIDS at the Kaup beach in Udupi district on Sunday, Nov 30. The World AIDS Day will be observed on Monday.

Srinath Manipal, Venky Palimar and Ravi Hirebettu carved out the sculpture in about five hours.



Team leader Srinath Manipal said that the sand sculpture was aimed at creating awareness among the general public about AIDS.

“The dragon symbolises the pain caused due to AIDS. We intend to spread awareness,” Manipal said.
