Udupi, Dec 1: Yakshagana artiste Chittani Ramachandra Hegde was felicitated on the final day of the week-long Yakshagana Festival titled “Chittani 75, Yaksha Sambhrama” organised by the Paryaya Puttige Math and the Chittani Abhinandana Samiti at Rajangana here on Sunday.
The Chittani Abhinandana Samiti presented a cheque of Rs. 1.05 lac Hegde, while Paryaya Puttige Math and Admar Math presented him with two cheques of Rs. 10,000 each.
In his acceptance speech, Chittani Ramachandra Hegde said that he felt honoured by the felicitation adding that Yakshagana, which is a rich art-form of the country, should be promoted.
