Mangalore: Gurpur Parishioners Celebrate Parish Feast with Grandeur

Mangalore, Nov 28: As a preparation for the annual parish feast of Our Lady of Pompeii church, Gurpur, near here, a three-day retreat was conducted by Redemptorists priests for the spiritual rejuvenation of parishioners from November 17 to November 19.

The confraternity Sunday was celebrated on November 23, followed by vespers on Tuesday November 25, conducted by Carmelite Fr Deep Fernandes OCD.

Earlier, the statue of Our Lady of Pompeii was blessed and taken in a procession in the town and erected on welcome arch located at state highway, near Kaikamba here.

Vodlem Fest was celebrated on Wednesday November 26.  Mangalore Rosario parish priest Fr Stany Goveas celebrated the Eucharist along with 12 priests from nearby parishes.

Fr Stany Goveas, in his homily stressed the need to faithful to live Gospel as lived by Mother Mary.  

Our Lady of Pompeii parish priest Fr Paul Rego thanked the parishioners and sponsors Serapine Miranda, Ligoury Tauro, Clement and Leena D'Costa.
