New Delhi, Nov 28: The terror attacks in Mumbai have put the cops on high alert in Delhi. There is uneasiness since some of the suspects of  September's Delhi blasts are still on the run and they could trigger explosions in the Capital. Delhi Police has intensified efforts to nab them. In a late-night development, some sympathisers of SIMI in the capital were picked up for interrogation.

The Mumbai attack, says intelligence sources, was planned in October this year after the Indian Mujahideen (IM) module was busted in September in which two terrorists were killed.

Cops say the identity of the outfit behind the Mumbai attacks is not certain but the role of Lashkar-e-Toiba, with support from local groups, is being looked at closely by the agencies. One of the modules of Indian Mujahideen in south India that is still at large may have played a vital role, says a senior oficer of Delhi Police.

The interrogation of militants across the country after the Batla House encounter had revealed the existence of suicide bomber groups which were trained in Pakistan. Members of Indian Mujahideen had revealed that a fidayeen arm of Indian Mujahideen existed and Riyaz Bhatkal was heading that module, said a senior police officer.

Delhi Police has picked up some suspects in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks. Details of some mobile calls that were traced after the Mumbai attack by agencies in the Valley have been shared with Delhi Police. A source said "some of the calls have been traced to Delhi and their call pattern has so far revealed that mobile numbers were being used to call Delhi and Mumbai. We are in the process of veryfying those numbers and addresses in Delhi.''

Meanwhile, a meeting of senior officers was called by commissioner Y S Dadwal on Thursday morning to discuss the security arrangements and intelligence gathering.
