Mangalore: Hindustani Classical Music Concert on Nov 30

Mangalore, Nov 27: A Hindustani classical music programme by the Sangeeta Bharati Foundation, organized by Corporation Bank, will be held at Town Hall on Sunday November 30 at 6 pm.

Rashid Khan, renowned Hindustani classical singer from Kolkata, will perform on the occasion. Around 50 percent of seats have been reserved for the sponsors while the remaining seats are open to interested individuals. Entry is free and open to all.

Khan belongs to the Rampur-Sehswan family. He trained under Nissar Hussain in the gurukul system and pursued higher education from the Music Research Academy. Khan is a recipient of the Padmashri and the Sangeeta Nataka Academy award.

Mukund Petkar, Pune, on harmonium, and Satyajit Talwalkar, Mumbai, on tabla, will accompany him in the performance.
