Panaji, Nov 27: The Directorate of Film Festival (DFF) on Wednesday November 26 said that they will screen the M F Hussain's documentary which was 'deferred' from screening on November 25.

"Hussain's film was just deferred that means it will be shown again,'' said festival director S M Khan at a press conference here.

The documentary 'Through the Eyes of a Painter' was deferred from screening following letter of objection by Hindu right wing organization – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

The nationalist Hindu organization had pointed out that more than one thousand cases  are pending against the painter in the country and it would be unfair to screen his documentary for such an important event.

The 40-year-old documentary was the part of Film Division's 'Framing Time' section which is held on the sidelines of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2008.

The film-makers participating in the festival had strongly condemned the deferring of this rare documentary, which is shot during the painter's traveling in Rajasthan.

"The documentary will be shown during the festival," Khan clarified to the reporters this evening.

On a lighter note, the DFF said that the documentary will now have to be shifted from the small size 50 seating capacity hall to a bigger place as there will be more interest to see it.

He said that the documentary is actively associated with the film festival but not the part of programming.

Khan, however, did not disclosed the exact timing of the screening. "We will let you know soon," he reacted.
