Udupi: Education Minister Kageri Inaugurates New Block of Innanje SVH English Medium High School

Udupi, Nov 26:
State primary and high school education minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri inaugurated the new block of Sri Vishnumurti Hayavadana (SVH) English Medium High School, Innanje, near here, on Tuesday November 25.

Speaking on the occasion, Kageri said that study of English is essential in the modern era.  Moreover, it’s advisable to only study English and not follow western culture.  Hence,  teachers are expected to promote our language and culture among their students, he added.
 


The programme was presided over by state home minister Dr V S Acharya. Sri Vishwavallabhateerta Swami of Sodhe Math, graced the occasion. MLA Raghupathy Bhat inaugurated the Yakshagana classes at the new block of the English medium school.
 
Shankarapura Rotary Club president Dr Edward Lobo, Ramakrishna Hatwar, Rajeshwar Singh, Gururaj Acharya Nippani, and Satish N, were present on the dais.
 
Swami Vishwavallabhateerta felicitated four alumni of SVH High School—Karnataka Bank former director U V Bhat, Syndicate Bank deputy general manager K V Beliraya, retired postmaster general B R Bagalody, and retired Udupi Tahsildar Mohammed Salim.
 
SVH High School correspondent Srinivas Tantri welcomed the gathering.  Ratna Kumar delivered the introductory address and  K Damodar Aithal proposed the vote of thanks while Pundarikaksha Kodancha compered the programme.
