Mangalore: Uppala Resident Abdul Jabbar Among Crew of Abducted Freighter

Mangalore, Nov 25: Twenty-five-year-old Abdul Jabbar, son of Samsuddin, and a resident of Uppala, near Kasargod here, is one among the crew on board the M V Delight, an Iranian freighter vessel that was hijacked by Somalian pirates last week. 

Abdul Jabbar has been working on the Iranian freight vessel, which was carrying cargo from Germany, for the past eight months.

This is the second time that a sailor from the region has been aboard a hijacked ship, the previous case being that of Jeevan Kiran D’Souza, resident of Chevar in Kasargod district, who was recently freed.
