Mangalore: DCC Urges Appointment of Experienced Officers for Updating Voters List

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (RD/CN)

Mangalore, Nov 25: The District Congress Committee (DCC) led by vice-president Ivan D’Souza and MLA U T Khader, urged deputy commissioner (DC) M Maheshwar Rao, to set right the lapses related to additions to the voters list. They alleged that the campaign undertaken for inclusion in voters list, from Monday November 10 to Thursday November 20, across the constituency here, was not successful owing to negligence on the part of a few officers entrusted with the task of verifying the voters’ information by visiting their respective polling centres.

In the memorandum submitted to the DC, the committee pointed out that the officers seemed not to have visited polling centers at University College, Capitanio, and Bajal, amongst others, and instead shifted their responsibility to junior staff and school authorities.  Moreover, some of the junior staff had turned away residents who were seeking inclusion of their names in the voters list, alleging that they had to complete 18 years as on November 21, 2008 despite the Election Commission’s directive to follow the cut out date of January 1, 2009. Hence, the DCC demanded updating of the list with the assistance of experienced officers alleging that there were discrepancies in the revision of voters list.

It is been tradegy of errors when comes to three major political parties, none seem to learn or correct themselves. congress-known to be lazy, non-functional. They sidelined their best leader SM Krishna to favor other leaders never known to people. They lost election but still they haven't learned a bit from it. Deve Gowda & Co (JD), had a good opportuntity to deliver but made political mess with favoritism amd 20-20 agreement drama. Today they are spent force. Yuddi & Co, I rate worst looser's of all. They won what they lost in 20-20 drama. They had excellent goodwill of the people. Soon after winning they bribed MLA's, scripted church attack drama, terrorism drama and so on. To divide people and get glued to the chairs for ever. The tradegy of errors costing people dearly and interesting to see next couple of year's, the political developments in Karnataka.
