Udupi: ‘My Kitchen, My Pride’ to Visit 26 Villages

Udupi, Nov 25: The Shell Foundation on Monday launched a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of smoke in the kitchen and promote simple methods to reduce smoke inside the house. The programme, “My kitchen, my pride”, would reach the message to 26 villages in Udupi district

In a press release issued here, the foundation said that the campaign would include on-ground static and interactive programmes such as display of wall posters and wall paintings, mobile van campaigns, flipcharts stories, interactive games and street plays.

The 26 villages to be covered are: Kotathattu; Uliyargoli; Cherkady; Badagabettu; Yellur; Manoor; Belle; Tenkanidiyoor; Varamballi; Maravanthe; Shankarnarayana; Beejadi; Navunda; Kavrady; Bijoor; Gujjadi; Siddapur; Basrur; Paduvari; Mudar; Nallur; Mala; Mundkur; Hebri; Sanoor and Miyar.

The campaign is part of a global effort to raise awareness on the dangers of kitchen smoke in villages with a population between 5,000 and 20,000.
