Mangalore: Constitution Awareness Movement from Nov 26

Mangalore, Nov 25: The People’s Movement for Enforcement of Constitutional Rights and Values, in association with the district administration and SDM Law College, will organize a two-month constitution awareness movement from Wednesday November 26.

Addressing media persons on Monday November 24, Prof Rita Noronha, general convener, said that people are unaware of constitutional rights. This has given a jolt to equality, freedom, and brotherhood, in the country. ‘This constitutional people’s movement will help create awareness among people about the constitution’, she said.

The Constitution Awareness Movement will be inaugurated by K B Chengappa, additional district and sessions judge. District commissioner Maheshwara Rao, Chandrakala Nandavar, Chidambara Baikampady, S P Chengappa, and Dr Ismail will be the chief guests. Social activists Lolaksha, Purushotthama Poojary, Ali Kunhi Pare, and Dr B K Ravindra, principal, SDM Law College, were present on the occasion.
