Mangalore: Eucharistic Sunday Celebrated at Gurpur’s Our Lady of Pompei Church

Mangalore, Nov 25:
Eucharistic Sunday was celebrated at Our Lady of Pompei church, Gurpur, on Sunday November 23. Dr Lawrence Mukkuyee, Bishop of Beltangady, offered the Eucharistic Mass at 4.00 pm. 


 
An Eucharistic procession was taken out from the church to Kaikamba town, on the occasion of the feast of Christ the King. At Kaikamba junction, the Bishop delivered a sermon in Kannada on living the true spirit of the Eucharist, through selfless love and sacrifice.
 
A benediction of the holy sacrament was held later at the church and final blessing was showered upon all the faithful. Fr James D’Souza, parish priest, Beltangady, and Fr Paul Rego, parish priest, Gurpur, conducted the veneration of the Eucharist.  
 
Johnson Lobo, vice-president, parish council, secretary Wilfred Pinto, and nearly 1300 parishioners attended the celebration.
