Mangalore: Senior Artiste Krishna Nayak Bags 'Sweekar Award'

Mangalore, Nov 24: 'Sweekar award', jointly instituted by Kannada and Sanskrit department and Sweekar Literature Cultural Meet will be presented at the Town Hall here on Tuesday November 25 at 5 pm.

A Krishna Nayak, an 85-year-old accomplished artiste has been selected for the Sweekar award, said A Shivanand Karkera, president, Sweekar Literature Cultural Meet speaking at the press conference recently.

Jagadish Moleyar, assistant general manager, Karnataka Bank will inaugurate the function.

The programme titled 'Shishira Sinchana' which includes poets' meet, yakshagana, dance and musical performance will be staged on the occasion.

Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalliand Muddu Moodubelle were present at the press conference.
