Udupi: Combing Operations Intensified in District

Udupi, Nov 20: In the backdrop of the encounter at Mavinahole near Kalasa on November 19, the Anti Naxal Force has  intensified search operations in various places in Kundapur and Udupi taluks including Koodlu, Megadde, Nellikatte, Tingalamakki, Kabbinale etc., on the suspcion that the naxals might shift their base  after the said encounter,  to one of these places where they have made appearances earlier. District superintendent of police Pravin Pawar confirmed that the anti-naxal operations have gained momentum in the district.

Ahila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat welcomed the anti-naxal operations that claimed the lives of three naxalites in Moodigere taluk. State ABVP secretary Ravichandra P M has congratulated the state chief minister, home minister and the police department for their bold initiative.  He has also urged the government to decimate the naxals who have derided democracy in the name of upliftment of the poor and engaging in volence. He said, that the naxals, who have been working to a conspiracy to destabilise governments, have set up a red corridor from Nepal to Kerala and urged the concerned to take  steps  against the so-called intellectuals  who support the naxal movement.

The ABVP also pointed out, that several lecturers working in the university and colleges have been trying to imprint the illusion among their students,  that naxalism is the right form of revolution and sought action against such persons.
