Mangalore, Nov 17:
The local committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will stage a protest by displaying kerosene lamps in front of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) offices, against the extended black-outs that have become commonplace over the past few days.

The DYFI alleged that the BJP-led state administration had come to power with the assurance of providing 24-hour power supply as well as free electricity to agriculturists in the state. It accused the government of not keeping its word.

The kerosene lamp protests will be staged at the Kavoor office of MESCOM on Wednesday November 19, at the Mannagudda office on Friday November 21, and at the Maroli office on Saturday November 22, stated a DYFI press release.
