Mangalore: 60th Annual Festival at Vithobha Mandir Balkunje

Mangalore, Nov 16: The 60th annual festival of Balkunje Shri Vitobha Mandir was held here recently.

Delivering benedictory speech on the occasion,  Sri Rajashekharananda Swamji of  Vajradehi Math Gurpur said, that  the society can attain progress only by leading a  refined life.

K P Sucharita Shetty, president, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, presided over the function.

Retired teachers Champa M, Alice Serrao, Jayaram Shetty of Diggers India and Sharat Shetty, dramatist were felicitated on the occasion.

Prabhakar Shetty, president, Balkunje gram panchayat, Karnire Harishchandra Shetty, Pramod Kumar,  zilla panchayat member and Shankar Shetty, honorary president of the Bhajana Mandali were present.

Dinakar Shetty, president, welcomed the gathering. Nagabhushan Rao compered the programme.

Later, a Tulu  play, 'Bairas Bhaskare' was staged.
