Bangalore: G A Shenoy Becomes South Indian Bank Chairman

Bangalore, Nov 15: Gurpur Anantraya Shenoy took charge as the non-executive chairman of the Trissur, Kerala-based South Indian Bank, which has branches all over India. His appointment was recently approved by the Reserve Bank of India.

Shenoy, who hails from Dakshina Kannada district, studied in Canara Highschool and was a rank holder in the B Com degree examination conducted by the Mysore University. Later, he completed his post-graduation through Karnataka University.

He is an associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and had functioned as the head of the overseas operations wing of Canara Bank in UAE and England. He joined South Indian Bank as the non-executive director in the year 2000 and has been elevated to the post of the non-executive chairman of the bank for a period of two years.
