Mangalore: ‘Ekaha Bhajan’ held at Polali Rajarajeshwari Temple

Mangalore, Nov 14: An ‘Ekaha Bhajan’ programme was organized by the Kripaposhita Bhajana Mandali at Polali Rajarajeshwari Temple on Thursday November 13.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Narayan Bhat, priest, said that the sincere mass prayer by devotees will be rewarded in future. The echo of the conch, gong, cymbals and Bhajans in every house and temple will symbolize Hindu culture, he said. Madhava Bhat, senior priest, Amunjeguttu Shankara Shetty, trustee, Ulepadyguttu Udaya Alva, and Venkatesh Navada, were present on the occasion.

The ‘Ekaha Bhajan’ conducted in the temple during the month of Kartika is a tradition, and performing ‘Appada Puja’ at the same time is a specialty of the temple. The ‘Appa’ used in the puja is prepared from the 23 bags of rice collected from families residing in and around Polali.

The preparation of the Appa, went on till nine in the night with 20 members helping out. . Later, the Appa was offered to the deity Rajarajeshwari and distributed to devotees in the form of ‘prasadam’.
