Mangalore: Lourdes Central School Sports Day Celebrations

Mangalore, Nov 14: The sports day celebrations of the  kindergarten and lower primary sections of the  Lourdes Central School in the city was held at the LCS Grounds at 9.30 am on Thursday November 13.  Small children studying from lower kinder garten upto the third standard, took part in sports competitions and won prizes.

Dr Purushotham, cardiologist of A J Hospital here, was the chief guest of the occasion. In his address, he exhorted parents to ensure that their children actively take part in sports activities, as they provide exercises and entertainment needed for the healthy growth of body and mind. By taking parts in sports, the children develop qualities of cooperation and take challenges. A separate item for sports should be added in the school curriculum, be urged.



Fr J P Tauro, manager of the school, presided.  Principal Grace Noronha,  Noseph Nazareth and Vivian Sequeira were present at the dais.

Liza Peris and Seema Madtha compered the programme. Lydia D'Souza delivered the welcome address and introduced the chief guest. Parvathi proposed vote of thanks.
