M'lore: NHRC Official Heading Probe into Adoration Monastery Attack Visits City

Mangalore, Nov 14: S P Singh, senior superintendent of police, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), visited Adoration Monastery near Milagres Church on Thursday November 13.

He visited the city to probe the alleged human rights violations by the police on September 14 and 15. Singh talked in detail with the nuns of the Monastery and also made enquiries of the locals. He will be in the city till Sunday November 16.

It can be recalled that Christians of the city took to the streets soon after the attack on the monastery by miscreants. Later, the police caned and tear-gassed protestors in an attempt to disperse them through.
