Udupi, Nov 13:
The district unit of the Karnataka Dalit Sangarsh Samiti (DSS) urged chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, to arrest MLA Raghupathy Bhat for restraining the investigating officer in the case regarding mysterious death of Bhat’s wife Padmapriya. They made this request in a memorandum presented to the deputy commissioner (DC) here on Thursday November 13.

The DSS alleged that B G Achar, the investigating police officer, had complained to the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) that Bhat had been hindering investigations into the death.  KAT issued a notice to the government in this regard, seeking the diary maintained at Manipal police station that recorded the summary of investigations.

The state government was urged not to derail the investigations in an attempt to save MLA Bhat from prosecution for his wife’s death, and to instead assist the investigation.

Why Samiti need to Urge? Isn't there any rule to prosecute the culprit? be it a politician or common man, guilty need to be punished. Why the guity is not taken to task even after a complaint to KAT? Stong political pressure from Home Ministry isn't It! Shame! Do not elect him to represent a million people.
