Mangalore: Yenepoya Foundation Presents 'Academic Excellency Awards'

Mangalore, Nov 12: A function to present the ‘Academic Excellency Awards’ was organized by the Yenepoya Foundation at the Deralakatte Yenepoya Medical College auditorium on Tuesday November 11.

Speaking on the occasion, district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that there i a need to regulate use of mobile phones in educational institutions, as it meddles with the educational environment and relationships.

The Foundation distributed cheques to the tune of Rs 75 lac to medical students, Rs 65 lac to dental students and Rs 1.46 crore to 186 students from 45 schools and colleges.

Y Mohammed Kunhi presided over the function.

Vice- chancellor of Yenepoya University Prof Syed Akheel Ahmed, MLA U T Khader, chancellor of Yenepoya University Abdul Kunhi, registrar of Yenepoya University Dr Vaswani, director Prof C M Kunhi, trustee Khalid Bawa and principal of Badriya Pre-university College Dr Ismail were present. Trustee Tumbe Ahmed Haji Moideen welcomed the gathering. A B Abdul Rahiman proposed vote of thanks.
