Mangalore, Nov 11: A  conference of the people aggrieved by wrong water bills, will be conducted under  the leadership of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at the Non Governmental Organization (NGO) auditorium in the city on November 13 at 10 am.

The conference will be held to pressurize  the City Corporation to set right anamolies in the issuance of water bills and also to waive unreasonably high  water bills issued to the water consumers.

The hike in water rates and privatization of bill reading work  a year back,  have created problems for the citizens of the city. The conference will also protest the large scale errors  found in billing the customers since the privatization of water meter reading and also the anti-people policies of the City Corporation.

The excessive water bills should be totally waived  without disconnecting the water connections  and the privatized meter reading should be discontinued forthwith, demanded  district secretary of DYFI Dayanand Shetty in a release..
