Mangalore: Reserve Policeman Dies of Cardiac Arrest on Parade Ground

Mangalore, Nov 10:
An assistant reserve sub-inspector died of cardiac arrest while participating in a parade at the Police Parade Ground here on Monday November 10.
 
According to police, Thaniyappa Naik (56) collapsed on the ground while on parade at 6.45 am. He was taken to a private hospital, but died despite an attempt at resuscitation.
 
Naik had served in the reserve police for 35 years. The body has been taken to Pervai, his native place, near Vittal, for cremation.

    At 56, far from his native place, up and early on the parade ground 6.45 in the morning, when most of us would be on bed, fine example of a life self discipline and self sacrifice, for the family and for the society, 35 years of unenviable service for the society. May your soul rest in peace.
