Mangalore: Terrorist Link - Four Arrested Youth to be Interrogated in City

Mangalore, Nov 10: The four men arrested for having links with the terrorists belonging to the Indian Mujahideen and its founder member Riaz Bhatkal and supporting their destructive activities, are being brought to the city from Mumbai.

The four, who were arrested by the state police and then handed over to the Maharashtra for interrogation, will again be handed over to the district police on Tuesday November 11.

On their arrival, the four accused will be lodged in the city sub-jail.  Criminal Intelligence Bureau inspector Venkatesh Prasanna has already sought the custody of the four persons for further investigations. It is said that the foursome, who were in the custody of the Maharashtra police for over a month, have revealed some secret information.

The four, Mohammed Ali and Javed Ali from Javed Mukkacheri, Naushad from Subhashnager and Ahmed from Haleangady had been taken into custody in an early morning operation on October 3 this year. The policemen had also recovered explosives and raw materials during the raid. The accused were later handed over to the Maharashtra police.

Two more people, Muloor Fakir Bava and Bolantoor Mohammed Rafiq, who were till recently held in the local sub-jail on similar charges, were  shifted during the last week, to Belgaum jail for security reasons, after they came under physical assault by other jail inmates.  In connection with the incident, the district police had conducted inspection of the sub-jail and iron rods, knives, hemp etc. Subsequently, jailer Eshwar Naik was suspended from services.

In the meanwhile, a person named Mohammed Nainar Ali (26) was taken into custody by the Kerala police from Kannur on Sunday November 9. The policemen claim that he is a friend of Nazir from Kannur, one of the most important members of the terrorist racket. The policemen are in the meantime, on the look out for Nazir and Ibrahim Moulavi, too others facing charges of being accomplices of terrorists. Khamaruddin, Ripper Kunhimonu and Yousuf, for whom the policemen had launched a manhunt in connection with the seizure of a cache of revolvers and bullets in Elur, surrendered at Ambalappuzha court.

    If confirmed that these 4 people are terrorist then 100% they hav to face the punishment, if not then police dept has to be punished.
