Bangalore: Ice-creams for People, the KMF Way!

The Hindu

Bangalore, Nov 10: If you think the war for ice-cream is over, think again. The large chocolate company that launched an ice-cream brand followed by yet another brand which boasted of 31 flavours, as well as ice-cream companies that came from Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra into Karnataka have all had their days. But, they could not actually become pan-Karnataka brands. Enter Nandini brand ice-cream promoted by our own Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) which promises to become a pan-Karnataka brand and spread the reach of pure and uncontaminated ice-cream to rural areas.

The KMF is planning a big foray into rural Karnataka. According to its Chairman H.D. Revanna, the KMF has already identified districts that will get Nandini brand ice-creams and agents will be appointed there.

The idea was to take the nutritious ice-cream to the rural people. The price of Nandini brand ice-cream has been fixed competitively to encourage people from rural areas to consume them. Nandini has already whipped up 10 flavours including mango, pista, strawberry, vanilla, black currant, badam, cashew, grape, chocolate and kesar pista. They are also packaged in various shapes that will make children happy, he added.

Arrangements were also on to have the ice-cream delivered in “scoops” in wafer cones.
