Mangalore: Police Arrest Three with Stolen Copper Wires

Mangalore, Nov 10: A police team led by officer Tilakchandra, on Saturday November 8, arrested three men accused of stealing telephone wire from the Padil railway bridge.

Ratan and Dasharat of Pavoor, and Ravi of Haloor, were arrested from the city service bus stand and 40 kg copper telephone wire, worth Rs 16,000 was seized from them. The three are also said to be involved in a robbery case at Ullal and were imprisoned for two months.

They move in the city under the excuse of picking waste from roads or offering to repair stoves, and instead break into homes. The police are on the lookout for their accomplices. 

Police sub-inspector Ramakrishna filed the case and is pursuing further investigation under the guidance of sub-division ASI Dharmayya. H C Sitaram, Umesh Hosalike, Chetan Botyadi, Mani, Satish and Tirumalesh, are also part of the investigation team.
