Mangalore: Hindustani Classical Music Competition Organized in City

Mangalore, Nov 9: A state-level Hindustani classical music competition was jointly organized by the Sangeeta Bharati Foundation and Karnataka Bank at Town Hall here on Saturday November 8.

The competition was conducted as a part of the national youth music conference. Participants from all over the country displayed their talent. The competitions were held in three categories—singing, tabla, and musical instruments. Fifteen previously selected participants from each category performed on stage. 

Ananthakrishna, chairman, Karnataka Bank, inaugurated the two-day music conference.

Rafiq Khan, president, Sangeeta Bharati Foundation, Narendra Nayak, vice-president, K Parashivayya, additional commissioner, income tax department, and Bhaskar Kamath, general manager of Bank of Baroda, Mangalore branch, were present.
