Karkala, Nov 9: A  seminar on the  'bond between Kannada and Tulu,'  organized by the Karkala  Literary Association, was  held at Krishna Kripa hall of Venugopalakrishna Temple at Anantashayana here.
Addressing the participants,  president of state Tulu Sahitya Academy  Dr Paltady Ramakrishna Achar observed, that Kannada has been in  usage in Tulunadu as the official language, while Tulu is the most widelye spoken language. Tulunadu has been the land in which both languages have co-existed and co-ordinated well, he observed.
Tuluvas  have done lot of creative work. The folk music  of  Tulu land has inspired  a number of   Kannada litterateurs. Apart from being  rich in content,  Tulu language has a history of thousands of years, he stated.
Convener of  Literary Association  Prof  M Ramachandra welcomed the gathering.  Senior lawyer Rajagopal Achar felicitated  Dr Paltady Ramakrishna Achar. General secretary Prof B Padmanabha Gowda was present on the dais. 
Prof V Aravind Hebbar of Udupi rendered some lyrics. Lecturer Muniraj Renjal compered  the programme. Lecturer Baby Eshwaramangala proposed vote of thanks.
