Moodbidri: State Level Athletic Meet at Alvas on Nov 21

Moodbidri, Nov 8: A state-level athletic meet for the students of pre -university colleges and vocational training  centres  will be be conducted at the Swarajya Maidan here  from November 21 to November 23, 2008.

Around 2,000 athletes  from 30 academic districts of the state will participate in the meet.

Minister for youth services and sports Goolihatti Shekar, district in-charge minster Krishna J Palemar, member of legislative council Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, vice-president of State Planning  Commission D H Shankaramurty, commissioner of pre-university education department S G Hegde and the president of local municipality  Bhojraj Kotian will participate in the inaugural function of the meet on November 21 at 9.30 am.

Home minister V S Acharya, president of zilla panchayat Sucharita Shetty, former minister Amarnat Shetty and district  deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao will take part  in the concluding ceremony on November 23 at 4.30 pm.

Entry forms containing  the details of players  representing different districts  must reach the organizers  before  November 13, said the president of Alvas Education Foundation Dr M Mohan Alva.
