Bangalore: Milk Price Imbroglio Continues to Boil - Revanna Adamant About Price Revision

Bangalore, Nov 8: Karnataka Milk Federation(KMF) chairman H D Revanna thundered here on Friday November 7, that he would not bow to the impotent threats of the chief minister Yeddyurappa, who is indulging in politics of vengeance, without giving an opportunity for a hearing on the milk price hike issue, even after writing ten letters to him on the issue.

"As the interests of the 19 lac milk producers and consumers is our only priority, the price of the milk will go up immediately after the 10-day deadline set for the same," he asserted.

" I am not egotistic and no prestige issue is involved in holding dicussions with the government. For me, interests of milk producers is paramount. We do not propose to increase the price of milk being used by the poor. If I am given an opportunity, I will convince the government of  the compelling circumstances. Otherwise, we will proceed with what has already been decided, after the lapse of the deadline," he clarified. He also criticized the chief minister for not having time to discuss issues of the welfare  of the state agriculturists, as his entire time is spent in visiting Tirupati temple, donating of elephant  in a Kerala temple and extending 'Operation Kamala' to local bodies.

"After rising to power, the BJP government conducted eight investigations against KMF  but failed to find anything. Now they have deputed a team of 21 auditors. I can not be subdued by these tactics. I have the strength to face these efforts. I will not shy away from facing such challenges," Revanna warned.
