Kundapur: ANF Chief Visits Madamakki Village

Kundapur, Nov 7: Chief commandant of the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) Amrit Paul visited the house of Narayan Naik, a resident of Madamakki village in the taluk. Naik, a forester in the forest department, had been threatened by naxals the previous day at gun point, instructing him not to stop tribals from collecting forest produce from the sanctuaries.

Paul collected details from Naik and instilled confidence in him. He also visited Jaddinagadde and Balmane, which are naxal-infested villages and gathered information. Kundapur deputy superintendent of police C K Shashidhar, circle inspector Valentine D'Souza, Shankarnarayana police station in-charge Suresh Kumar and personnel of the ANF and special police force were present.

The ANF continues combing operations in the forests of Madamakki and surrounding villages, in search of naxals.
