Mangalore, Nov 7: K K Purushottam has been nominated as the Dakshina Kannada district convener of the the Janata Dal (United) party.

The party district unit was dissolved  in view of the forthcoming organizational elections scheduled for Dcember this year. Until then, Purushottam will function in the capacity of the district convener of the party.

The post of the  district unit president of the party is vacant since  the death of Kote Vasanth Kumar. A  membership campaign will be conducted till the end of this month, informed state secretary of the party  John Francis, in a release.
