Mangalore: Akashavani Bags State Level Award

Mangalore, Nov 7: The Mangalore Akashavani station has been awarded the state level  first prize under radio programmes, among all the radio  programes aired in the state.

This honour has been conferred on the local Akashvani unit, for the play, 'Mangaloorda Kranti', produced by Muddu Moodubelle. Three roles in the play too were performed by  the producer himself.

A literary work of Prabhakar Neermarga was adopted to  the radio mode  under the guidance of  radio station  in-charge director Dr Shivananda Bekal.

The play revolves around  the story of the  1837 independence struggle of Mangalore province. Artistes  Sarojini Shetty, Rohidas Kadri, D S Boloor, Amrutha Shetty, Sujit Kumar and others donned different roles in the play, , stated a release.
