Mangalore, Nov 5: District commissioner M Maheshwara Rao inaugurated the Dakshina Kannada district Consumers' Information Centre at Bharath Scouts and Guides Meeting Hall here on Wednesday November 5. The centre is set up by zilla panchayat, district Administration, department of food civil supply and consumer's affairs in association with district consumer's organizations union.

Addressing the gathering Maheshwara Rao said consumers should be aware about their rights. It would lead to quality of service. "Consumer is the king in market. We must give priority to standard of service. Consumer club can be established in every school. It will help them to be aware about consumers respect in the market," he added.

Vajrakshi P Shetty, president, taluk panchayat, M J Salian, president, consumers' union, Vijay Kumari Shenoy, director, department of food, civil supply and consumers' affairs, Shivashankar, CEO, and KP Sucharita Shetty, president, zilla panchayat were also present on the occasion.
