Bangalore: Patil Puttappa to Get BMTC Nrupatunga Literary Award

Bangalore, Nov 1: Nadoja Dr Patil Puttappa(Papu), veteran journalist, Kannada activist and writer, has been selected for the current year's 'BMTC Nrupatunga Literary Award'.

The award, being announced by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat from out of the endowment fund of a crore of rupees instituted by Bangalore Mahanagara Transport Corporation, comprises of cash component of five lac rupees.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Dr R K Nallur Prasad announced at a press conference held here on Thursday October 30, that Papu's name was cleared for the award at the selection committee meeting of the KSP held on October 25 under his presidentship.
