Mangalore, Nov 1: A lecture on the subject of 'Health is wealth' was organized by the Mangalore Management Association (MMA) and Shri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Business Management at the SDM Law college auditorium on Thursday October 30.

Speaking on the occasion, associate professor of KMC hospital Dr Vinaya Poornima said, that maintaining good health as long as we live,is more important than striving to live long.

Mental imbalance and stress are the main reasons for the aggravation of ailments in each person. The human health flounders because of the lack of mental concentration and co-ordination. Therefore, mental exercises should be given more importance than physical exercises, she stated.

Hidden inferiority complex in oneself makes way to mental frustration that gives rise to a feeling of revolt. Under such conditions, the mind gets more and more attracted towards negative emotions even when the environment around us is positive. This is a common phenomenon. So, one needs to adopt a positive attitude towards every situation, she stressed.

People should understand the need of the hour and live in the present, rather than crying over spilt milk or brood over unfathomable future. The hours and days we spend by being in the present and living for the moment, contribute towards increasing our enthusiasm towards life and improved physical well-being. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's 'Sudarshan Kriya' works to guide people to live in the present and enjoy their lives inspite of what goes on around them, she added.

Dr Devraj K of the SDM College of Business Management presided over the function. President of MMA M Shekara Poojary welcomed the gathering. Savitri Rao introduced the guests.

U Rama Rao and T G Shenoy were present on the occasion.
