Moodbidri, Oct 30: Tangappa (50) and Bhargava (60), both natives of Kerala state, who were working in the quarry being run by S M Haji at Mantradi near here, died under mysterious circumstances on the night of Tuesday October 28.

The body of Tangappa was found lying in his hut here, on Wednesday. His body bore deep marks of wound at the temple region, in addition to blood clots. Bhargava's body was found hanging from a tree near the stone quarry.

Both the workers were liquor addicts and had fought on the night of Tuesday. Bhargava had badly hit Tangappa during the drunken brawl. It is suspected that Bhargava grew nervous after Tangappa died, and committed suicide to escape from humiliation.

Moodbidri sub-inspector of police Bharati visited the spot and registered them as suicide cases. Post-mortem examination was conducted at the Shiradi primary health centre.
