Bangalore: State Recognition for Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank

The Karnataka State Aids Prevention Society (KSAPS) and Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council (KSBTC), acknowledged the efforts of blood banks operating in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district that are involved in organizing voluntary blood donation camps, at a state-level programme held to mark blood donation month. 
 
State medical education minister Ramachandra Gowda presented the state-level award to the blood bank of Wenlock District Hospital. Dr Suchitra, trustee of Dr M V Shetty Trust, and blood bank officer of Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore, received the award from the minister.
 
Madan Gopal, principal secretary, ministry of health, presided over the function. 
 
Nilaya Mithesh, project director, KSAPS health director, Prema, assistant project director, KSAPS, Dr Balakrishna, joint director, EEC, and Dr N G Narayan, general secretary, IRCS, Karnataka, were also present on the occasion.
