Udupi: Man Accused of Murder Attempt Gets Bail, Threatens Family Again

Udupi, Oct 25: A person, who had been facing attempt to murder case and secured bail from Udupi court, reportedly posed life threat to the members of the family to which the lady injured by him belongs.

Local people and members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike(KRV) on Thursday October 23, complained to the Kaup police that the said person has been roaming around with his head held high and posing threats to the family for complaining against him.

Deepa Naik(20), daughter of Gopal Jaik from Majoor near Kaup had been assaulted by her neighbourer Nitesh Bhandary(27), son of late Purushotham Bhadary, who after lugging at her clothes, had swished at her neck with a sword and injured her badly. He had then fled to Bangalore, and after securing the support of some influential persons, appeared in the Udupi court on October 21 and secured bail. He is facing charges under sections 323, 506 and 504 of the Cr PC.

Kaup circle inspector Chiluvaraju who received the complaint, promised of suitable action. KRV womens wing president Mamata, district unit workers of KRV Dhanpal Poojary, Manjunath Balkur, Shekhar Kalmadi, Celina Karkada, localites Vasudev Rao, Kishan Rao and several others were present at the time of filing the complaint.
