Moodbidri: Muhurat for Tulu Play, 'Seedogu Sadijji'

Moodbidri, Oct 25: The muhurat for the Tulu play 'Seedogu Sadijji' was organized in the city recently.

The new play 'Seedogu Sadijji,' is composed by Srinat Moodbidri of Namma Kalavider team of Bedra and directed by Umesh Mijar.

Speaking on the occasion, president of Alvas Education Foundation Dr M Mohan Alva said, that Tulu language is self-sufficient with inherent strengths, as compared to other languages. The Tulu play writers and artiste's should protect and develop the language and Tulu culture to make them richer, he advised.

Tulu language should be like flowing water. Tulu play and artiste's must watch other plays and look for positive changes that can enhance the power of the plays, he suggested.

Presiding over the function, Kusaldarase Navin D Padil said, that apart from discipline, teamwork etc., a play succeeds only when the artiste is able to breathes life into his character.

Film actor Chetan Rai, lawyer Sharat Shetty, journalist Dhananjay Moodbidri, Sharat Shetty Kinnigoli, Ashraf Valpady, businessmen Diwakar Shetty Todar and M S Latif were the chief guests of the function.

The programme commenced with the invocation by Umesh Mijar. Team manager M S Kirodi welcomed the gathering. Lyricist Srinat Moodbidri delivered the introductory speech. Pravin Alangar compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.

The first stage performance of this play will be held at Moodbidri on November 10.
