Sullia: Rat Poison Kills Girl, Sister Critical

Sullia, Oct 22: A girl died after unknowingly consuming rat poison at Chokkodi near Mundugaru here. She was the elder of two sisters who ate the poison, unaware of its effects.
 
The deceased is the daughter of Nagesh and Bhavani, residing at Ammatti in Biligunda, Virajpet, Coorg. Tanuja (5) and her sister Padmini (3) collapsed after the poison intake. 

The incident occurred after Bhavani’s uncle Narayan visited their house at Virajpet and took the two girls to his home in Kallumale of Mundugaru. Tanuja died on the way to the hospital in Sullia. Padmini is under treatment at a hospital in Mangalore. A case has been filed at Sullia police station and the investigation is on.
