Mangalore: Farmers Organizations Insist on Early Road Restoration

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangalore (SNK/SP)

Mangalore, Oct 21: Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha, Hasiru Sene and the women's wing of Raita Sangha have jointly urged the state government to repair the rural roads in Dakshina Kannnada district, apart from the state highways immediately.

Rainy season will commence, if the restoration of roads is started with abnormal delay. Normally the rain is blamed for the damage caused to the roads after the repairs, to cover up for the shoddy, sub-standard road repairs, they noted. They have also warned the City Corporation and government departments to ensure that the repairs are conducted well in time and to ensure that the same reason is not put forth to cover for faulty road repairs this year again.

If the restoration work is not undertaken immediately, a strong protest will be organized by the concerned. In addition, the organizations will lay siege to the office of the public works department, they warned.
