Kundapur, Oct 21: Some pervereted minds are misleading the society on the subject of castes and religions. We can build a healthy and strong society, if we always make it a point to follow human values, advised ex-chief minister S Bangarappa.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 154th birth anniversary celebrations of Brahmasri Narayanaguru at BYndoor Gandhi Maidan on sudnay October 19.

"The ideals for which Narayanaguru stood for, are universal and pertinent even now. We should sink differences of caste, creed etc., and always throb to the sufferings of the people. The young people should aim at strengthening social fabric within the society," he urged.

Sri Nrusimhashrama Swamiji of Sri Balekudru Math delivered benedictory address. Sri Vikhyatananda swamiji of Bolyottu Guru Sevashram extended his best wishes to the gathering.

Speaking after unveiling the portrait of Narayanaguru, ex-MLA Gopal Poojary said, that the ideals of Narayanaguru get fulfilled, when people forget their caste and religious affiliations and work collectively to build a healthy society.

Ko Ma Karant awardee Suresh Poojary, who presided over the function, his wife and MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary were felicitated.

Ex-MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, Bhatkal MLA G D Naik, zilla panchayat president Raju Poojary, zilla panchayat member Sadhu S Billava etc., were present.

A grand procession was taken out on the occasion, in the town, after being inaugurated by N T Poojary.
