Mangalore, Oct 20: Fresher’s day was celebrated at Father Mullers on October 18th. It heralds the arrival of the new MBBS batch of 2008 into the Mullerian family. The theme for the day was ‘Canvas-unleash your imagination’, which signifies the platform provided by the college to the new batch to express their creativity, talents and imagination in various fields.

The programme was convened at the Academy Hall, where it began with a prayer song. The welcome note was delivered by Stan Abraham Mani, class representative of batch 2007. The cultural events were preceded by a powerpoint presentation showcasing the transition of ‘SYMPHONY’, the previous fresher’s day to ‘CANVAS’. The programme was then taken over by batch 2008.

The entertainment started off with a classical dance, Bharatnatyam, portraying the culture of south India. It was followed by a few words of advice to the freshers by Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Dean, FMMC. He congratulated the students of batch 2007 for successfully organizing the programme and spoke about the diversity of the fresher batch. He motivated them to leave their footprints on the canvas of the institution.
