Bangalore: Retired Air Force Officer’s Wife, Children Murdered

Bangalore, Oct 20: In a ghastly incident reported from Vidyaranyapuram police station limits in the city on Sunday October 19, a mother and her two children were murdered by using sharp weapons and slitting their throats, in broad day-light. Father of the children, a retired air force officer, was away from home for some time, when the murderers struck.

The apparent purpose of murder was to rob cash and valuables. Anu Yadav (35), wife of retired air force sergeant D S Yadav, daughter Keerti Yadav (14) and son Aditya Yadav (16) lost their lives in this way, at about 9 am. Valuables, gold and cash were found missing from the house.

D S Yadav (41), who was living in his own house in Singapore Lay Out in Vidyaranyapuram here, was to go to his native place in Uttar Pradesh next month. He had gone to the railway station to buy tickets at 7 am. By the time he came back at 10.30 am, the doors of the house were open and his wife and children were lying in a pool of blood. After he raised an alarm, neighbourers came there and called the police.

Apparently, a gang of five to six people had barged into the house and gagged the trio with clothes. Things in the home were strewn around. It appears that the mother and the children had shown stiff resistance to the moves of the attackers.

Yadav had opted for voluntary retirement from air force a year back, and his children were studying in central school. As the family was not freely moving with neighbourers, the latter are unaware of the visitors to their house.

It is thought that the robbers were known people. They seem to have spent some time with the family before executing their evil plans. If the robbers were strangers, they would have robbed things after gagging and tying the family members. The fact that they killed the three, gives clue to the fact that they were known people.
