Mangalore, Oct 20: The department of security and detective science started operations in Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology college in the city, recently.

Speaking on the occasion, after inaugurating the bachelor's decree class in detective science, Agni M, a detective from Hubli, informed that the number of private officiers looking after the security in the country, is three times the number of government officers in this field. But, the number of youngsters in the country who wish to involve themselves with the profession of security and detective service, is very less, he lamented.

Being a security officer or detective will receive attractive salary, status and reputation. Innumerable number of detective graduates are needed in the country, said former police inspector and physical education director of the institution G A Bava, addressing the gathering on the occasion
