Chinese shares open lower

Beijing, Aug 22 (IANS): Chinese stocks opened lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.07 per cent to open at 2,731.96 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.18 per cent lower at 8,533.43 points, Xinhua news agency reported.
