Moodbidri, Oct 17: In a fire accident that occurred at Hosmar of Edu village in Karkala taluk on Thursday October 16, a house and various equipments and things stored in the house were reduced into ashes.

Narasimha Prabhu, a resident of Hosmar town, runs the business of hiring of sound system, shamiana and catering services. Things owned by him like 15 quintals of arecanut valued at Rs 1.5 lac, rice, clothes, utensils, shamianas, catering equipments, coconut etc., were destroyed by fire.

The total loss in this accident is put at around three lac rupees.
