Karwar, Oct 14: "Who was behind the murder of my father, MLA Vasant Asnotikar and Bhatkal MLA Chittaranjan? CBI had in its report, mentioned about the need to conduct narco-analysis test of a leading political figure in the state. The state BJP leaders will bare everything at an opportune time," fumed minister Anand Asnotikar, indirectly targetting KPCC president R V Deshpande. He was reacting to the efforts being made by the Congressmen to frame him in the false affidavit case.

He also advised Deshpande, who had alleged that Anand Asnotikar and his mother Shubhalata were involved in the murder of mafia don Dileep Naik, to think of his own reputation and status before making silly allegations. "With the sole aim of pushing me out of the election fray, various unfounded charges are being leveled against me," he claimed.

Asnotikar also said that the affidavit filed by him at the time of election was not false. "I had not included my property in Moodageri in the affidavit, as there has been a litigation over the ownership of that property, about which the court is yet to pronounce its judgment. As there was litigation over its ownership, I did not show it," he has clarified.

If there was any discrepancy in the affidavit, the returning officer should have issued me notice within a month threof. Now, orders to issue notice have been made after four months. Our lawyers will question all these things in a proper forum, he added.
